At Saturday's dual meet with UW-Oshkosh, Newbery recorded a first and second-place individual finish, while swimming part of two first-place relay teams. He won the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.01, which was less than three seconds shy of a school record, while placing second in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.68). He then helped Ripon's 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams win each event with times of 1:46.34 and 1:34.90, respectively.
