Lutter helped Ripon's men's swim team finish sixth at the MWC Championships over the weekend, breaking four individual school records and swimming a leg on one school record Relay team. Lutter broke those school records in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.35, which was good for third place, the 100 backstroke (52.76), finishing fourth in that event, the 200 freestyle (1:45.55), which he swam on the first leg of the school record-breaking 800 freestyle relay, and the 200 backstroke (1:58.71), finishing eighth in that event. His led on the 800 freestyle Relay helped the team break the school record with a time of 7:07.42, which was the fourth-fastest time. Lutter was also a part of Ripon's third-place 400 freestyle relay, which finished with a time of 3:10.05, just three seconds shy of the top time.
