Fuhrmann helped Ripon's men's track & field team finish fifth out of 10 teams at the Midwest Conference Championships over the weekend, as he was one of just four athletes at the meet to win two individual events, scoring 22.5 points by himself during the weekend. In the 400m final on Saturday, Fuhrmann got out on the opening lap in second position and put himself into position heading in to the homestretch. He then out-leaned defending MWC champion, Brett Peifer from Illinois College, at the finish line to win the event by 0.02 seconds with a time of 50.12 seconds. An hour later, Fuhrmann lined up for the 200m, getting out to a quick lead and never saw another runner as he once again edged out the win at the tape by 0.03 seconds over 60m champion Stone Darrow from Monmouth in a time of 22.62 seconds.
