Petersen broke Ripon's school record in the Decathlon by 172 points at Thursday's UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge, ranking him 35th in Division-III. He added a new lifetime-best in the 110 Hurdles by 0.11 seconds to start day two of the competition.
