Matter had an outstanding weekend at the 2013 Midwest Conference Championships, as she was named Women's Track Performer of the Meet, while helping the Red Hawk women to a fifth place finish out of 10 teams. Matter won the 3K Steeplechase with a time of 11:15.96, while finishing third in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:49.68 and second in the 5K with a time of 18:11.84, which breaks her own school record in the event by three seconds.
