Budd has consistently improved his times this season, shaving a minute off his personal record in three consecutive meets, running 28:47.6 at the Gill Dodds Invite, 27:58.6 at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invite and 26:53.6 at the Gene Davis Invite on Saturday. His time on Saturday was nearly two and a half minutes faster than his time at last year's Gene Davis Invite and, in the process, Budd became just the 26th male in program history to run an 8K in under 27 minutes. Saturday's meet also marked the first time in his career that Budd was a top-seven runner for the men's squad.
