Against a competitive field, Cefalu had a strong showing in the Ripon Winter Open on Saturday to open the indoor track season for the Red Hawks. The junior took seventh out of 36 finishers in the 60-meter dash prelims with a 7.05 time. He followed that up with a 6.99 performance in the 60-dash finals, taking fourth and breaking the Ripon school record for the indoor 60-meter dash in the process.
