Near the cutline for the Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 800-meter run, Cortes delivered a signature performance on Saturday at UW La-Crosse's NCAA Final Qualifier. The sophomore cruised to a new school record in 2:14.06 -- breaking her own school record by more than three seconds -- to secure her spot in this upcoming weekend's indoor nationals in Virginia Beach.
