Ryan Goggans is in his seventh year as Ripon's Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach. In his first year at the helm of the program, Goggans led the team to unprecedented success, as his the women's team broke 15 school records and the men's team broke three more. Both teams also earned a spot on the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team. Ripon's women's swim team has earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors five times in Goggans' six years as Head Coach. Under Goggans' watch, Ripon's men's and women's swim teams have broken 29 of a possible 38 school records.
Goggans came to Ripon from St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minn., where he served as a Graduate Assistant Coach. While with St. Cloud, Goggans was accountable for mid-distance and butterfly training groups, on deck support and recruiting and utilizing social media for the program. In his one year as an assistant coach, St. Cloud earned seven All-American selections and conference championships in eight events. The also broke 21 school records during that season.
Goggans earned his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from St. Cloud, where he served as Team Captain of the swimming and diving team and was named Honorable Mention All-American Scholar Athlete. He went on to complete his Masters Degree in Sports Management from St. Cloud in 2016.
A registered Minnesota Swimming Official, Goggans has been a starter/referee and diving judge at high schools and YMCAs. He is also CPR and First Aid Certified.and has participated as a coach and volunteer at the Special Olympics Wisconsin in Appleton.
