Donald W. Anderson was one of Ripon’s outstanding football players. As a freshman, his hard-nosed playing style as a lineman secured a starting role for him on the varsity squad. His consistent play and leadership earned the respect of his team and coaches. In 1941 he was named captain and led the team to its second Midwest Championship in three years. Don was chosen to the All-Midwest team in 1941. A three-time member of the “R” Club, Anderson also won the S.N. Pickard Award for athletic and academic achievement in 1942.
