Winner of eight Ripon College letters in three sports, Jeff Trickey was recognized by his coaches and teammates as an outstanding all-around athlete. During his senior year at Ripon, Trickey was elected by his teammates as captain of the football, basketball and baseball teams. His athletic prowess was evident when he was selected to the All-Midwest Conference First Team as a football quarterback and again as a baseball shortstop. Trickey’s coaches praised his athletic leadership by presenting him with the 1971 Samuel N. Pickard award for making “the most significant contribution to Ripon College through scholarship, athletic achievement and personal character.” After Ripon, Trickey maintained his award-winning athletic status when he was named Touch Football Player of the Decade 1971-1981 by the Vince Lombardi National Tournament.
