Milan Bloecher was captain of the 1940 Ripon basketball team which won the College’s second consecutive Midwest Conference Championship. The team was invited to the NAIA Tournament, the first time a Ripon team was selected for post-season play. While at Ripon, Bloecher played forward and set a scoring record of 213 points. He was elected to the All-Midwest Conference squad and ranked with the greatest that had played at Ripon to that time. An “R” Club member, “Blick” was called “one of the fastest and smoothest players on the squad” and noted for his “coolness on the free throw line.”
