High scorer in the Midwest Conference in 1953, Ned Lufrano was a key ingredient in the Redmen basketball program for his years of competition. An All-Conference selection, Lufrano averaged 21.4 points per game that season to reach a total of 471 points, a Ripon record that stood over 10 years. His single game record of 46 points was also unbeatable for many years. Lufrano’s career total at Ripon was 874 points. According to his teammates, Lufrano was one of the early practitioners of the “running, one-handed jump shot.”
