Ripon College Athletics

Throughout his athletic career at Ripon, Pete Mattiacci was the epitome of the versatile, all-around athlete at a time when collegiate athletics were fast headed toward specialization. While he lettered in basketball and baseball, Mattiacci was at his best as quarterback of Ripon’s football team. In his senior year, he led the Redmen to an undefeated season and a conference championship. As a result, “Pistol Pete,” was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player, named to the All-Midwest Conference team and honorable mention Little All-America.
