BELOIT, Wis. - The Ripon women's tennis team lost a pair of matches Saturday, first losing to Beloit College 7-2, before falling to Knox College by a score of 8-1.

Against Beloit (5-8, 1-3 MWC North), the Red Hawks (3-7, 0-3 MWC North) won one singles and one doubles match. In singles play, Alison Thies was the only Ripon player to win her match, defeating Emma Koeppel at number five singles, 6-0, 6-3. In doubles play, Elizabeth Ake and Ellie Hedberg teamed up to win their match at the third flight, 8-6.

Ripon followed that up with an 8-1 loss at the hands of Knox (3-6). Their only team point came at number four singles, where Olivia Wetzel defeated Aimee Nellan, 6-1, 6-1. Each doubles match was fairly competitive with Knox winning all three by a combined score of 26-16.

The Red Hawks will close out their 2012 regular season on Friday when they'll travel to Lawrence University. That match will begin at 3 p.m. in Appleton, Wis.
