RIPON, Wis. - One day after losing to conference leading Lake Forest, the Ripon women's soccer team rebounded with a 3-0 win over Beloit College to stay in the thick of the Midwest Conference standings. The Red Hawks scored two of their three goals in the second half, with junior
Brandi Peltier scoring once in each period to pull within one goal of Ripon's career record (62).
Peltier's 60th career goal came in the first half and broke a scoreless tie in the 28th minute on an assist from
Kaylee Tadych. The Red Hawks (7-5-0, 3-2-0 MWC) added a goal in the 50th minute when
Alexandra Jirik scored for the first time this season thanks to
Mikayla Huesman's fourth assist of the year. Peltier tacked on an insurance goal in the 71st minute, giving her 16 goals on the season and 61 for her career.
Ripon Goal Keeper
Sidney Blodgett recorded her fourth shutout of the season, saving three shots on the day, while playing all 90 minutes. Her counterpart, Alex Spirov also played the entire game in goal for Beloit (2-8-0, 0-4-0 MWC), making 11 saves.
