Ripon Downs Wisconsin Lutheran, 2-1

Box Score

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -
Ripon's women's soccer team won for the third time in their last four games Wednesday night, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran by a score of 2-1. Ripon outshot the Warriors 20-5 on the day, including 12-3 during a first half that saw all three of the game's goals scored.

Wisconsin Lutheran got on the board first with a goal in the ninth minute. That lead held until the 23rd minute, which saw Kaylee Tadych net her fourth goal of the season on Brandi Peltier's fourth assist of the year. Six minutes later, it was Peltier's turn to get in the action, as she connected on her fifth goal of the season to give the Red Hawks the lead for good on Alyssa Kennedy's second assist of the year. All but one of Ripon's 10 goals this season have come from either Peltier or Tadych.

Ripon Goal Keeper Sidney Blodgett played the entire game, saving two shots on the day. Wisconsin Lutheran's Kate Gucinski also played all 90 minutes in goal for the Warriors, registering eight saves.

The Red Hawks will try to build on that victory on Sunday when they'll host Edgewood College. That game will begin at 1 p.m. on Prairie Field in Ripon and can be seen live on http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/ripon.portal#.
