RIPON, Wis. - Ripon defeated Illinois College 1-0 on Saturday behind Brandi Peltier's 10th goal of the season and 55th of her career. Peltier, who was assisted by Mikayla Huesman on the play, is just seven goals shy of Ripon's career record and is 16 goals shy of the all-time Midwest Conference mark.

Peltier managed the only goal of the contest in the 15th minute and Ripon's defense did the rest to preserve the victory. The Red Hawks (5-4-0, 2-1-0 MWC) outshot Illinois College (5-5-1, 1-2-0 MWC) 17-12 in the game, including 11-5 in the first half.

Ripon Goal Keeper Sidney Blodgett recorded eight saves on the day, en route to her third shutout of the season and ninth of her career. Her counterpart, Cat Solberg, also played all 90 minutes for the Lady Blues, making 10 saves, while allowing just the one goal.

The Red Hawks will be back in action again on Sunday, as they'll host UW-Superior. That game will begin at 1 p.m. at Prairie Field in Ripon and can be seen live on http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/ripon.portal#.
