Ripon Falls To Edgewood

Box Score

VERONA, Wis. - Despite outshooting their opponent for the fifth time in as many games (18-15), Ripon lost to Edgewood Wednesday night by a score of 3-1.

Edgewood (2-1-1) got out to a strong start with a pair of first half goals. Jenna Mineau opened the scoring with her second goal of the year in the eighth minute. Liz Darkow doubled that lead with her first goal of the season in the 41st minute.

Ripon (3-2-0) got on the board in the 53rd minute of the second half when Kaylee Tadych netted her fourth goal of the year on an assist by Brandi Peltier. That would be as close as the Red Hawks would get however, as Edgewood's Hannah Menzia gave the Eagles an insurance goal in the 68th minute.

Sidney Blodgett saved six shots in her 90 minutes as Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, while Maddie Schroeder made nine saves for Edgewood, while also playing the entire game.

The Red Hawks will be in action again on Sunday when they'll host Wisconsin Lutheran at 3:30 p.m.
