Ripon Defeats Carroll For First Time In 14 Years

Box Score

RIPON, Wis. - The last time Ripon's women's soccer team defeated Carroll University, many of the current Red Hawks players were about four years old. That all changed Saturday afternoon, as the Red Hawks defeated Carroll 1-0 for the program's first win over the Pioneers since the 2000 season.

Ripon (6-3-0, 2-1-0) wasted no time getting on the board, scoring the game's only goal less than five minutes into the contest on Brandi Peltier's team-leading 11th goal of the season, with the assist going to Alyssa Kennedy. Peltier now has 76 goals in her career, which is just 15 shy of the Midwest Conference record.

From there, the Red Hawks defense took the game over, led by Goal Keeper Sidney Blodgett, who made 10 saves while recording her fifth shutout of the season and 18th of her career. That moves her into a tie for sixth in MWC history.

The Red Hawks will try to keep things going next weekend when they'll host Knox College. That game will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Prairie Field in Ripon.
