RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks women's tennis team hosted a pair of matches during Homecoming weekend on Saturday, each with similar results. Ripon lost to Alverno, 9-0, in their morning session, before falling 8-1 to UW-Stout in the nightcap.

Against Alverno (9-5), one of Ripon's most competitive match came at number four singles where Lucero Pena lost 5-7, 3-6. Courtney Olson also put up a fight at the second flight, losing 4-6, 4-6. The Red Hawks were outscored in their three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-10.

In their second match of the day, Madeline VandenHouten gave Ripon a team point with a 6-0, 6-3 win at the top singles flight. Olson was also competitive once again, before bowing out, 5-7, 4-6. The Red Hawks were outscored in doubles play by the Blue Devils (3-8) by a combined score of 24-1.

Ripon (0-9) will be in action again next weekend when they'll battle Grinnell College on Saturday. That match will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Larson Courts in Ripon.
