Ripon Loses Regular Season Finale At Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. -
Playing in their final tune-up before next weekend's Midwest Conference Championships, the Ripon College women's tennis team lost at Monmouth College Sunday afternoon by a score of 6-3. The Red Hawks earned all three team points in singles play, while losing all three doubles matches by a combined score of 25-11.

In singles play, Maddie VandenHouten won at the number one flight, 6-1, 6-3. Courtney Olson and Samantha Kiesner were also victorious at the second and fifth flights, respectively. Olson won her match 6-1, 6-0, while Kiesner won 7-5, 1-6, 10-0. The most competitive doubles match came at the top flight where VandenHouten and Olson teamed up in what resulted in a 9-7 defeat.

Ripon will now prepare for the MWC Championships, which will begin Saturday and continue into Sunday at Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison, Wis.
