APPLETON, Wis. - In a game that has the potential to significantly affect the landscape of the Midwest Conference standings, the Ripon women's soccer team lost to Lawrence Thursday night by a score of 5-0. The loss drops Ripon to sixth place in the MWC standings, while Lawrence jumps up one spot to fifth, with each team still alive for an MWC Tournament berth, which goes to the conference's top four teams.
Lawrence (9-7-0, 4-4-0 MWC) first got on the board in the 19th minute when Anne Leung scored on a Penalty Kick. Mari Hubanks also scored a first half goal to give the Vikings a 2-0 halftime lead. The second half was all Lawrence as well, with goals by Perrin Tourangeau, Genna Matt, and Christine Kerkman. Ripon Goal Keeper
Jessica Bykowski saved nine shots on the day, while Patsy Kealey saved eight for Lawrence to preserve the shutout.
