RIPON, Wis. - The 2015 Ripon College soccer season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 4-1 loss to Illinois College in both team's regular season finale.
Illinois College (6-10-2, 3-6-1 MWC) scored the only goal of the first half in the 12th minute on Elizabeth Wagnon's first goal of the season, which was assisted by Bianca Savarese.
In the second half, it was Savarese who took the game over. She game the Lady Blues a 2-0 lead in the 52nd minute with her fourth goal of the season, which also marked her first of three goals in the game. Ripon (7-10-1, 3-7-0 MWC) fought back, cutting that lead in half in the 63rd minute when
Mikayla Huesman scored for the second time this season, thanks to assists from
Alyssa Kennedy and
Morgan Johnson. Savarese would put the game out of reach however, scoring her second goal in the 71st minute and completing her hat trick with a Penalty Kick in the 86th minute.
Jessica Bykowski played the entire game in the net for the Red Hawks, making five saves. Illinois College Goal Keeper Cat Solberg also played all 90 minutes, recording six saves.
