RIPON, Wis. -,Playing their first conference match of the season, the Ripon College women's tennis team lost to Lawrence University by a score of 6-3. The Red Hawks won three of their six singles matches, but lost all three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-12.

In singles competition, Maddie VandenHouten won at the top flight, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6). Morgan Makar and Samantha Kiesner also won their singles matches at the number four and five flights, respectively. Makar won her match by a score of 6-2, 6-1, while Kiesner won 6-2, 6-4.

The Red Hawks (1-3, 0-1 MWC) will try to get back on the winning track Saturday when they'll play Lake Forest and Carroll at 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively. Both of those matches will take place at Larson Courts in Ripon.
