JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Searching for their second win in a row, Ripon's men's soccer team came up just short Saturday afternoon, losing a tough battle to Illinois College by a score of 1-0. The Blueboys also held a 14-6 shot advantage, including 6-1 in the first half.

The game's only goal came in the second half on Brock Chartier's first goal of the season, thanks to an assist from Alexis Zazueta, in the 50th minute. From there, Illinois College's defense held to preserve the victory.

Ripon Goal Keeper Jimmy Amedeo played the entire game between the pipes, making six saves. His counterpart, Ty Clearwater, saved five saves, en route to the shutout for Illinois College (2-8-3, 1-4-0 MWC).

The Red Hawks (4-9-0, 0-5-0 MWC) will be in action again on Sunday when they'll travel to Knox College. That game will begin at 1 p.m. in Galesburg, Ill.
