Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Red Hawks Fall To Lawrence

APPLETON, Wis. - Ripon's men's soccer team allowed two second half goals Tuesday night for what proved to be the difference in the game, as they lost to Lawrence University, 3-1. Lawrence also held the edge in shots, 24-10.

Lawrence (6-9-1, 2-5-1 MWC) didn't waste much time getting on the scoreboard, as Taylor Reifert scored just one minute and 14 seconds into the contest, on assists from Max Loebl and Robert Desotelle. Ripon (4-12, 0-8 MWC) would tie things up in the 42nd minute when Ben Vorpahl scored on an assist by Emenike Umeh.

That tie lasted until the 79th minute when Lawrence took the lead for good on a goal by Jack Blodgett. He was assisted by Michael Deremo, who would tack on an insurance goal in the 86th minute on assists from Reifert and Harry Broderick.

Jimmy Amedeo played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, recording a season-high 13 saves. His counterpart, Joe Krivit, made five saves, while also playing the entire game.

The Red Hawks will wrap up their 2016 season on Sunday when they'll travel to Lake Forest College. That game will begin at 12 p.m. and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/lfc/#live.
