Red Hawks End Regular Season With Pair of Losses

RIPON, Wis. -
Ripon's women's tennis team suffered losses in both of their matches on the final day of the 2016 regular season on Sunday, losing to both Grinnell and Cornell by identical 9-0 scores.

In their first match of the day, Ripon (6-10, 3-6 MWC) faced Grinnell (10-1, 9-0 MWC), losing all six singles matches to the Pioneers, while also dropping their three doubles contests. Samantha Kiesner put up the best fight, losing at the third flight, 3-6, 3-6.

The Red Hawks closed out the day with a loss to Cornell (10-3, 7-2 MWC), which saw the Rams win all six singles and all three doubles matches. Morgan Makar had the closest match against the Rams, losing her number two flight match by a score of 3-6, 2-6.

Ripon will now prepare to compete in the MWC doubles and singles championships next weekend at Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison, Wis.
