RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's soccer team lost to Marian University 6-0 on Wednesday afternoon, as the Sabres scored three goals in each half. Marian also held a 20-9 shot advantage, including 8-2 in the first half.
The scoring began in the 19th minute when Muhammed Abshir scored his sixth goal of the season for Marian (4-1-0) on an assist from Alonso Fragoso. Fragoso would score the game's second goal in the 42nd minute on a Penalty Kick, before assisting on the team's third goal with less than one minute before halftime.
Fragoso continued his big game in the second half, scoring in the 51st and 64th minute to put Marian up 5-0. Eric Rodriguez added another goal later in the contest to cap the scoring.
Jimmy Amedeo played all 90 minutes in goal for the Red Hawks (2-3-1), making 10 saves. Marian Goal Keeper Ian Chacon saved seven shots in his 90 minutes of action.
Ripon will be in action again on Saturday when they'll travel to Madison, Wis. to take on Edgewood College. That game will take place at Goodman Athletic Complex at Edgewood High School and is scheduled for 1 p.m. LiveStats will be available atÂ
