RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon women's tennis team played a pair of matches Saturday that were polar opposites of each other. The began the day with a 9-0 loss to University of Dubuque, before defeating Dominican (Ill.) 8-1 in what marked the first NCAA regular season event in an sport to be played inside Ripon's newly renovated Willmore Center.

Against Dubuque (2-1), the Red Hawks (2-1) dropped all three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-2. In singles play, they lost five of the six matches in two sets.

Due to inclement weather, Ripon was forced to move inside The Field House at Willmore Center for their match against Dominican (Ill.) (0-1). The Red Hawks christened the Field House well, winning all three doubles matches, and five of their six singles matches.

Courtney Olson and Morgan Makar teamed up at the top doubles flight to win 8-6. Ripon's number two team of MacKenzie Warner and Rachel Hicks also won by a score of 8-6, while Katelyn Peroutka and Carly Wesner teamed up at the third flight to win 8-3. In singles play, Olson, Markar and Warner were victorious at flights one through three, respectively, while Hicks and Peroutka won at flights five and six, respectively.

Ripon will be in action again on Tuesday when they'll travel up Highway 44 to visit UW-Oshkosh for a 3 p.m. match.
