MONMOUTH, Ill. - Ripon's men's soccer season drew to a close Saturday with a 4-1 loss to Monmouth College. The Fighting Scots also held a 25-3 shot advantage in the contest.
Neither team scored until the 39th minute when Monmouth's Agustin Miranda found the back of the net, giving the Fighting Scots a 1-0 halftime lead. Ripon tied things up early in the second half on a goal by
Devin Hoaglin in the 54th minute, with the assist credited to
Eugene Pliska. That tie lasted nine minutes, until Martin Zafirov scored on an assist by Alvaro Alvarez. Monmouth scored two more late insurance goals from Jack Ressler and Zafirov to cap the scoring.
Cole Jurish played all 90 minutes as Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, making five saves.
