Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Red Hawks Narrowly Lose To Knox

GALESBURG, Ill. - Ripon's men's soccer team proved they could hang with one of the top teams in the Midwest Conference, falling to 2017 MWC regular season champion Knox College on Saturday by a score of 2-1.

Neither team scored in the first half, with the stalemate lasting until the 65th minute when Alessandro Benelli gave Knox (7-2-1, 2-0-0 MWC) the first lead of the game on a Penalty Kick. The Prairie Fire added a second goal in the 77th minute on a header by Raphael Adeyemi, thanks to an assist from Pedro Moura. Ripon (3-6-0, 0-2-0 MWC) got on the board less than two minutes later on Grant Grywalsky's third goal of the season, with the assist going to Devin Hoaglin.

Cole Jurish played all 90 minutes at Goal Keeper for the Red Hawks, making nine saves.

Ripon will hope to bounce back on Sunday when they'll travel to Illinois College. That game will begin at 11 a.m. in Jacksonville, Ill., and can be seen live, with LiveStats at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ic/.
