WATERTOWN, Wis. - After 110 minutes of play, Ripon's men's soccer game at Maranatha Baptist still could not be decided, as the two teams ended in a 1-1 tie after two overtimes. The Red Hawks held an 18-15 shot advantage, with both teams getting off three shots in overtime.
Neither team scored in the first half, but that scoreless tie was broken by Maranatha Baptist (0-3-1) in the 66th minute when Joel Shepard scored on an assist from Tyler Nelson. Ripon (0-6-1) tied things up in the 84th minute on
Esteban Borja's first career goal, thanks to an assist from
Braden Kobus.
Both Goal Keepers played all 110 minutes in the contest. Ripon's
Kenny Smith made six saves, while Maranatha Baptist's Tim Kinzler saved seven shots.
