RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's soccer team was able to contain Knox's offense for the majority of the first half, but the Prarie Fire exploded for four second half goals, defeating the Red Hawks 6-0. Knox also out-shot Ripon by a 27-1 margin.
The Priairie Fire (6-2-2, 1-0-0 MWC) started the scoring in the 18th minute on Adetayo Adfioye's sixth goal of the season, assisted by Jun Min. Adefioye would add another goal on a Penalty Kick later in the half to give Knox a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Knox added to that lead six minutes into the second half when Nick Janulis found the back of the net for the fourth time this season. Two and a half minutes later, Min gave Knox a 4-0 lead on an assist by Adefioye, who would notch his third goal of the game just minutes later. The Prairie Fire added an insurance run in the 82nd minute off the foot of Hima Elabd.
Kenny Smith made 11 saves for the Red Hawks (0-8-1, 0-1-0 MWC) in his 90 minutes of work as the team's Goal Keeper. His counterpart, Joao Freire also played the entire game for the shutout.
