RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's soccer team lost to Rockford University Sunday afternoon by a score of 3-1.
The game looked to be a high-scoring affair, with three of the four goals being scored in the first nine minutes. Rockford (3-2-0) got things started with an Ivaan Gomez goal just three minutes into the contest on an assist from Ethan Bergen. Ripon (0-4-0) would tie things up two and a half minutes later when freshman
Christian Millan scored on an assist from
Steven Klika. That tie lasted just three mintues before Ryan Munch gave Rockford the lead with his third goal of the season.
That would be all of the scoring until the 61st minute when Carlos Montes gave Rockford an insurance goal to cap the scoring.
Ripon Goal Keeper
Kenny Smith saved two shots in his 90 minutes of work, while Francesco Martincig made three saves, while also playing the entire game.
The Red Hawks will be in action again on Wednesday when they'll host Lakeland University. That game will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Prairie Field in Ripon, and can be seen live atÂ
