MADISON, Wis. - Ripon's women's tennis team brought their 2021 season to a close over the weekend, completing at the annual Midwest Conference Championships. The Red Hawks took part in the MWC Doubles Tournament on Saturday, before playing the MWC Singles Tournament on Sunday's final day of competition. Ripon earned the conference's Sportsmanship Award at the conclusion of the tournament.
Ripon's doubles tournament was highlighted by
Sarah Weber and
Chase Polyak's win in the number two flight's consolation finals, defeating Illinois College's Mikhayla Haloftis and Hannah Lueke by a score of 8-7. Ripon's number one team of
Hannah Ryback and
Tia Endrizzi lost in the consolation finals, while their number three doubles team of
Emma Ziebell and
Andreanna Wilke won their quarterfinals match, before bowing out in the semi-finals by a score of 8-1.
In the singles tournament on Sunday, Endrizzi and
Halle Hadel advanced to the consolation finals at the number two and five flights, respectively. Ryback and Weber lost in the semifinal round at the number one and three flights, respectively, while
Tamera Holland and Polyak also lost in the semifinals at the fourth and sixth flight, respectively.
