JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Ripon College women's soccer team lost a hard-fought 1-0 match at Illinois College Saturday afternoon.
The Red Hawks conclude the regular-season with a ledger of 4-11-3 overall, including 1-6-1 in league play.
Adreanna Wilke turned away three early shots by the Lady Blues. However, Illinois College broke through for a 1-0 lead in the 12
th minute of play.
Kaley Kowal tried to answer two minutes later but her shot was saved. Julianna Garcia rocketed a shot toward the goal in the 34
th minute off a corner kick but missed to the right.
After Wilke had two quick saves in the second half, the Red Hawks went back to work. Abby Anderson's shot in the top left of the goal nearly found the back of the net but the keeper was able to barely keep it out of the goal.
Ripon College was unable to get another shot on goal until the waning moments. In the 87
th minute, Ana Graham Cook registered a pair of attempts. However, both were saved by Cassidy Tacker, preserving the 1-0 victory for the home team.
For the match, Graham Cook posted a team-best two shots, including both on goal.
Between the pipes, Wilke played all 90 minutes and totaled 13 saves.
