LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Ripon College men's soccer team lost a 2-0 match to Grinnell College in the MWC semifinals Friday.
The Red Hawks conclude the season with a ledger of 8-8-3. The Pioneers advance to the championship and currently stand at 10-7-1 on the year.
Trailing 2-0, Andre Robertson booted a shot in the 30
th minute but it sailed left of the frame. Finley Manning's shot on goal two minutes later was stopped by the keeper.
Eli Dietzel's attempt in the 35
th minute was saved, preserving the 2-0 score heading into the second period of action.
At the 67:55 mark, Christian Millan posted a shot on goal, but he was thwarted by the keeper. Manning had a pair of shots in the final 10 minutes of action to try and slice into the deficit. However, one narrowly missed while the other was saved in the postseason match.
For the contest, Kalan Narance played all 90 minutes in goal, totaling three saves. Manning led the Red Hawks with three shots, including two on goal in the loss.
Ripon College wrapped up the 2022 campaign by going 6-2-1 over its last nine matches.
