Box Score WATERTOWN, Wis. - Ripon College women's soccer shut out Maranatha Baptist University, 5-0, on Tuesday for its first win of the 2022 season and the first win of Coach
Jennifer Dimos' career. The win also snaps a 23-game streak without a win for the Red Hawks.
Kina Hopkins found the net in the 14th minute to give Ripon a 1-0 lead. Hopkins' second goal of the season proved to be the game-winner.
Kaley Kowal scored next, assisted by
McKenzie Wiesner in the 24th minute. The 2-0 lead remained at the half, but Kowal quickly made it 3-0, opening the second half with a goal in the 47th minute, assisted by Cielo Guiterrez.
Late in the game, juniors
Ana Graham Cook and Mackenzie Webber each scored their first career goals, scoring in the 82nd and 84th minutes, respectively.
Brennah Bronk assisted Cook's goal.
Ripon had a season-high 34 shots, more than tripling its previous season-high of 11 against Rockford over the weekend. The Red Hawks' seven shots on goal were also a season-high.
Andreanna Wilke and
Britt Hable split time in goal to share the shutout for Ripon, switching in the 70th minute. Neither keeper faced a shot on goal.
Ripon (1-4) will host Coe College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
