RIPON, Wis. – Ripon College scored two goals in the second half as the Red Hawks battled to a 2-2 draw in their women's soccer match against Coe College Saturday afternoon at Prairie Field.
The Redhawks improved to 1-4-1, while the Kohawks slipped to 0-6-1. Ripon has a quick turnaround to their next match as they host Finlandia University in a 1 p.m. match tomorrow.
Coe jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Mackenzie Adams found the back of the net in the 19th minute before Ella Weber doubled the lead on a goal in the 49th minute.
The Redhawks trimmed the Kohawk lead in half three minutes later as
Kina Hopkins scored. Hopkins is now tied for the team lead in goals with three. Ripon tied the match with just over 12 minutes left on
Cielo Gutierrez's strike. It was Gutierrez's first goal of 2022.
Coe outshot Ripon 27-15, including a 15-6 edge on goal. The Kohawks had five corner kicks to one for the Red Hawks.
Andreanna Wilke stopped 13 shots in goal for Ripon, while Liana Sweezer had four stops for the Kohawks.
