BELOIT, Wisconsin – The Ripon men's soccer program was held scoreless for the first time in over a month as the Red Hawks fell 2-0 at Beloit on Saturday afternoon at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
Ripon (2-3-5, 0-2-2 MWC) nearly made it to half scoreless, but Brady Wacholz scored his first goal of the season with under 30 seconds remaining in the first stanza to give Beloit (2-7-1, 2-1-1 MWC) a critical 1-0 lead heading into the dressing room.
In the 68th minute, Solvi Gunderson also found the back of the net for the first time in 2023 to double Beloit's lead, a lead it would not surrender en route to the shutout victory.
Shots were fairly even, as Beloit had 10 to Ripon's 7. Shots on goal were also in favor of the Bucs (6-4).
Jacob Oppeneer came off the bench and had a team-high 3 shots (2 on goal) for the Red Hawks.
Sam Jahnke played all 90 minutes between the pipes and recorded 4 saves.
