GRINNELL/MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The Ripon women's tennis program completed its fall dual season on Saturday, falling 9-0 to both Grinnell and Cornell in Saturday matches.
In the morning match, Ripon (1-10, 0-6 MWC) was unable to keep up with the four-time defending Midwest Conference champion Pioneers (4-0, 4-0 MWC). Grinnell made quick work of doubles and had similar success in singles, taking all six matches in straight sets.
Isabella DeMeuse was a bright spot for the Red Hawks, winning games in both of her sets on court five.
Against Cornell (7-3, 4-1 MWC), the Red Hawks struggled to find their footing in doubles as Cornell only dropped two games across all three courts. The momentum never changed hands in singles, as the Rams took all six courts in straight sets to earn the sweep.
NEXT UP: Ripon now turns its attention to the Midwest Conference Individual Tournament on Saturday and Sunday (October 14-15) at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.
