RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon College women's track and field team placed fourth at the La Crosse Invite Friday evening.
The Red Hawks scored 44 points at the meet. Wisconsin-La Crosse won the meet with 171 points while Loras was second with 162 points. Wartburg was third with 94 points in the seven-team field.
In the 800m,
Isabelle Willett accounted for an eighth-place mark after crossing the line in 2:26.32, which was good enough to pick up a point.
The talented trio of
Mikayla Flyte,
Natalie Pakosz and Ali Denamur were second, third and fourth, respectively, in the 3,000m. Flyte earned eight points after finishing in 10:39.47 while Pakosz tallied six points after crossing in 10:40.03. Denamur's time of 10:44.55 allowed her to garner five points.
In the long jump, newcomer
Olivia Miller picked up a second-place finish after establishing a mark of 5.39m. Her effort was good enough for eight points.
Earlier in the day, Miller scored a point with her 26.58 time in the 200m, which allowed her to finish eighth.
Caroline Flesch posted a third-place finish in the high jump. She cleared 1.53m, which allowed the Red Hawks to pick up five points.
The Red Hawks return to action Feb. 24-25 at the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships.
