Ripon Women Wrap Up Red Hawk Invite In Second Place

RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon women's track and field team turned in another big day at Saturday's Red Hawk Invite, picking up four event wins to close out the day with 118 points and a second-place team finish. The meet is the fourth home event for the Red Hawks so far on the indoor campaign.

A trio of Red Hawks scored points in the 800, highlighted by Isabelle Willett's first-place and season-best performance of 2:28.31. Mikayla Flyte finished on Willett's heels with a second-place time of 2:28.58, while Grace Engebretson's season-best 2:34.54 was good enough for seventh.

Payton Rahn (1:01.34) earned eight points for the Red Hawks with a second-place finish in the 400, while Olivia Miller (27.01) added a third-place finish in the 200 with a new PR. Miller (9.20) added an event win in the 60m hurdles, picking up her second PR of the afternoon along the way.
Ripon impressed in the distance events, with Ali Denamur (18:46.50) winning the 5K by more than 40 seconds in the best performance of her collegiate career. Angela Mosconi picked up fourth in the same event, doing so with a time of 19:44.64.

Macy Goldthorpe collected fourth place in her college debut in the 3K with a time of 12:23.69, while Natalie Pakosz (5:21.98) and Flyte (5:24.46) came in fourth and fifth respectively in the mile run.

The momentum on the track carried over into the relays for the host team, as Ripon continued to pick up points between the lines. The 4x200 relay squad of Miller, Rahn, Kynaeda Gray and Jenna Erickson grabbed first-place with Ripon's best time of the season (1:49.17), while Jenny Cortes, Engrebetson, Willett and Pakosz edged out Lawrence for second place in the 4x400 (4:22.04).

Kalyn Otzelberger highlighted Ripon's efforts in the field events with a third-place launch of 12.03m (39' 5¾") in the shot put. Teammates Arynn Mathieu (11.40m/37' 5") and Cheyanne Saylor (10.73m/35' 2½") followed in fifth and eighth respectively, giving Ripon nearly a third of the points for the event.

Mathieu picked up fourth place in the weight throw with a distance of 14.69m (48' 2½"), while Otzelberger came in sixth (13.77m/45' 2¼"). Finally, Caroline Flesch turned in a new personal best in the long jump with a sixth-place clearance of 4.88m (16' ¼"), picking up another three points for Ripon.

The Red Hawks return to the Willmore Center next Saturday, when they are slated to host the Dick Hendricks Invite.
