RIPON, Wisconsin – The Ripon women's soccer program battled to a 0-0 tie against Edgewood College on Monday afternoon at Prairie Field.
The best scoring chance of the day for either team came 20 minutes into the match when Edgewood (2-3-2) had a penalty kick opportunity after being fouled in the box. However, goalkeeper
Andreanna Wilke came up with two big saves to preserve the clean sheet for Ripon (4-1-2). The Red Hawks had a corner kick in the final minute of the game but were unable to find the back of the net.
Wilke ended the afternoon with 11 saves.
The Eagles had a 26-8 advantage in overall shots over Ripon and had 11 shots on goal to Ripon's 2.
Martina Palazzolo,
Jessi Griepentrog and
Alyssa Klementzos each had 2 shots for the Red Hawks.
The match featured 23 fouls, with 16 of those coming on Edgewood.
UP NEXT: Ripon hosts Illinois College on Saturday (September 23) at Prairie Field for the Midwest Conference opener for both teams. First touch is scheduled for 11 a.m. The Ripon men square off against IC right after the women's match.
