RIPON, Wisconsin – Despite a season-high 15 saves by
Andreanna Wilke, the Ripon women's soccer program dropped a 1-0 decision to Lake Forest College on a rain-soaked Prairie Field on Tuesday afternoon.
The loss snapped Ripon's seven-match unbeaten streak. Seven matches without a blemish was the longest unbeaten streak for the program since going unbeaten for 14 consecutive matches to open the 2016 campaign.
Lake Forest (3-3-4, 1-0-1 MWC) found the back of the net in the 22nd minute for the only goal of the game. After LFC was fouled just outside the box, Izzy DeStefano rifled a free kick past Wilke to score and give Lake Forest a 1-0 lead halfway through the first half.
The Foresters had 28 overall shots compared to Ripon's 2.
Alyssa Klementzos and
Martina Palazzolo each had one shot for Ripon (4-2-3, 0-1-1 MWC). Shots on goal were 16-1 in Lake Forest's favor.
DeStefano had a match-high 5 shots for Lake Forest.
