RIPON, Wisconsin – Senior captain
Kaley Kowal scored two goals in the first half to lead Ripon to an impressive 2-0 victory over Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday afternoon at Prairie Field.
Both goals came in the final 15 minutes of the opening frame. Her first goal found the back of the net courtesy of
Martina Palazzolo, who earned her first assist of the season. Her second goal, unassisted, came on a breakaway with under 20 seconds remaining in the half.
These were her second and third goals of the season after scoring once last week. She now has three goals in her last two games.
Kowal led Ripon (2-1-0) with six shots (four on goal).
Rebecca Roszel was second on the team with two shots.
Andreanna Wilke recorded 14 saves for her second career complete game shutout. It was her highest save total since October 22, 2022 against Grinnell (17).
The Red Hawks had half as many shots as Concordia (22-11) and also trailed in shots-on-goal (14-8) and corner kicks (9-2).
Jamie Seibert had six shots to lead Concordia (0-3-0).
