MADISON, Wisconsin – The Ripon women's tennis program opened the Midwest Conference Individual Tennis Tournament on Saturday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium, collecting a host of wins in the singles consolation bracket.
Three Red Hawks –
Hadley Berendsen,
Josie Rondestvedt and
Isabella Engstrom – will compete in Sunday's consolation finals in singles, while
Allison Pavlovec and
Catherine Skoglund received a bye to Sunday's consolation doubles final on court three.
After all six Red Hawks dropped singles quarterfinals matches, Ripon recovered nicely in the consolation round. Rondestvedt was an 8-4 winner on court two over #7 Michelle Maag of Illinois College, while Berendsen took down Monmouth's Kimber Calvert, 8-2, on the third line. Engstrom picked up a bye straight to Sunday's consolation final on court six.
