OWATONNA, Minnesota – The Ripon women's tennis program played twice on Saturday at the Owatonna Tennis, Pickleball and Fitness Center, falling 9-0 to both St. Scholastica and Northwestern (Minn.).
In the opening match, Ripon (2-14) fell behind early in doubles as St. Scholastica (5-3) swept all three doubles courts. The Saints then registered straight-set singles wins on courts one and five to clinch the match.
CSS swept the remaining courts to win the match 9-0.
Against Northwestern (3-4), Ripon once again started in a 3-0 hole as the Eagles won each of the doubles courts.
In singles, UNW clinched the match on courts five and one. From there, the Eagles won courts two, three, four and six to claim the shutout win.
NEXT UP: Ripon wraps up its weekend on Sunday (March 3) as the Red Hawks face UW-Superior at 11:30 a.m. in Owatonna.
