Red Hawks Wrap Up Season With Split

WAUWATOSA/MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin – The Ripon women's tennis program closed the book on its season on Friday, falling to Wisconsin Lutheran 8-1 before rebounding to defeat Alverno 9-0.
 
Against Alverno (0-14), Ripon (3-17) rolled to three victories across all three doubles courts. Allison Pavlovec and Chase Polyak were 8-5 winners on court one, while Andreanna Wilke and Jessica Griepentrog teamed up for an 8-2 win on court two. Emma Ziebell and Kelly Kline helped Ripon to a 3-0 lead after doubles with an impressive 8-0 win on the third line.
 
In singles, Ripon won six straight-set matches, not dropping more than two games in any one set. Polyak was a 6-2, 6-0 winner on court one, Wilke cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory on court two and Pavlovec was similarly dominant, winning 6-2, 6-1 on court three. Griepentrog posted an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory on the fourth line, while Aubrey Malotky (6-0, 6-1) and Ella Clark (6-1, 6-1) breezed to wins on courts five and six respectively.
 
In the opener, Wisconsin Lutheran (8-8) took an early lead after doubles, sweeping all three courts from Ripon. In winning all six first sets, the Warriors then quickly clinched the match with a trio of straight-set victories on courts one, five and three.
 
Straight-set wins on courts six and two soon followed, though Griepentrog battled after dropping the first set to post a 2-6, 7-5, 10-8 victory on court four to end the match.
